27 dresses + the thing about glory

Katherine Heigl: one woman, 27 dresses. 28th dress is the one in white. & sometimes it takes 27 dresses. 27 tries. 27 failures. 27 "where are you God?"'s. Until 28 comes. The Golden Twenty-Eight.
You may find yourself at a sketchy bar singing Benny + the Jets with the man you'll marry (not me Katherine Heigl, you Pharisee). Life is messy like that. But love is born out of chaos, out of mess.

The worst part may be when you have a hunch that you are only on dress number 13. Like there is much more failure, mess, chaos, awkward stages, life to live and figure out. Will the glory be worth it? How much longer? Can we get like a timeline or something?
Patience is a virtue that I don't so easily possess. But I will wait on the Lord and cling to His truth with all I have.

Because He is not just waiting there at dress 28. He's walking me down every aisle in dress 14, 15, 16, 17... & He keeps gently whispering to me as we walk,

"You think this is great?
just wait for dress Twenty Eight."

p.s. the soundtrack to the movie "27 Dresses" just about tops the list. You got Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Ray LaMontagne, and Michael Buble all in one two-hour cinema.

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are preparing us for an eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all.
